Brilliant AMERICANAH by Adichie wins National Book Critics Circle award

One of my favourite books, and indeed authors, Americanah by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has just won the National Book Critics Circle’s fiction award, a prestigious American literary prize.

The book tells the story of a Nigerian woman’s meeting with America as an immigrant; funny and serious in equal measure and very well written. AND, it’s now out in paperback; not a bad thing for a long book whose hardback version was on the (physically) heavy side. Don’t be scared off by its length, however, Americanah is a rare breed these days,: a long book that doesn’t feel long and a thumping good read! Click on this link to read the full review.
